In a show of displeasure over Tola Odeyemi’s nomination as CEO/Postmaster-General, employees of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) have closed down the organization’s Abuja headquarters.
President Bola Tinubu overhauled the management of communication agencies, including NIPOST, according to a statement made last week by a presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale.
However, there were claims that Adeyemi Adepoju, the fired postmaster general, had been reinstated shortly after the news of Odeyemi’s appointment surfaced.
Adepoju was seen addressing several employees in a viral video who claimed Tinubu had reinstated him.
Adepoju had earlier claimed in a statement released by NIPOST on Friday that President Bola Ahmed had reinstated him in his roles as Postmaster General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Postal Service, or NIPOST.
Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Sunday Adepoju has been reinstated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Postmaster General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), according to a statement from NIPOST. Adepoju’s sterling leadership and excellent performance during his tenure in office were cited as the reasons for his reinstatement.
However, on Monday, the protesting employees forbade the newly appointed NIPOST CEO from entering, claiming that her hiring went against their wishes.
