Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has praised the Nigerian military for abstaining from anti-democratic actions.
Democracy, according to Governor Adeleke, is a requirement for all societies.
On Thursday, Adeleke said this as she welcomed Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of the Army.
In order to inaugurate the Civil-military school project in Alusekere, Ede, General Lagbaja was in the region.
He highlighted that the Army has acted as a guardian of the democratic process as well as national stability while defining the Nigerian military as a well-trained professional service that respects respect for the national constitution.

The sacrifice and patriotism of the military are essential to our country’s ability to remain unified in the face of difficulties. The military maintains its unity even while the civilian population is severely divided. The military has frequently prevented our country from falling apart.
“Your approach of reaching out to the general public is a huge step toward strengthening national unity. The governor said, “I applaud this civil-military cooperation, and the Osun State government has tight ties to the state’s military facilities.
Adeleke thanked the Chief of Army Staff for stepping in quickly during the most recent Ifon-Ilobu conflict.
“Your patriotic deed is praiseworthy. Dear General, you have our sincere gratitude.
In his response, the Chief of Army Staff stated that he was in the state as part of his ongoing tour of the nation’s army units.
Lagbaja gave the Governor his utmost assurance that he supported democracy and wise leadership.
The Army’s engineering and construction branch is ready to accept projects from any willing states.
