The continuing war between Israel and Hamas will cease tomorrow morning, according to Michael Freeman, Israel’s ambassador to Nigeria.
Israel will stop all attacks on its citizens, according to another pledge made by Freeman.
In an address to reporters on Wednesday in Abuja, he made this clear.
Freeman, who also serves as Israel’s Permanent Representative to ECOWAS, voiced alarm about the purported murders of more than 1,000 innocent Israeli people by the Hamas organisation, calling such acts of violence “terrorism.”
Israel will respond, as we have declared war on Hamas, Freeman said.
“At this juncture, it is crucial to emphasize that this is not an Israeli-Palestinian conflict; it is not about Israel and Palestine.
“This is a conflict between Israel and Hamas, between good and evil, between civilized society and barbarism.
“Either you support those who are defending themselves, or you support those who chop off newborns’ heads.
“That is the only thing this is about; everything else is irrelevant.”
Israel will take all precaution possible to prevent civilian casualties during the war against Hamas, Freeman was promised.
The Israeli action, he said, would not be about religion, including Islam, Judaism, or Christianity, but rather about bad and good.
Israel, the envoy continued, had no wish for conflict under any circumstances but would continue to be dedicated to safeguarding its citizens in any manner possible.
“If Hamas gives up, this will cease the next morning; but, ending terrorism is not practical.
“I’m not asking the Palestinians for anything; I’m just telling them that I hope their day gets better. I’m concentrating on Hamas when I say this.
“I am focused on dealing with Hamas and I am focused on stopping it,” the ambassador continued.
