310 Nigerians who traveled to Jerusalem, Israel, for a pilgrimage, according to the Lagos State Government, have been airlifted there and home.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Governor Sanwo Olu announced this.
The escalating crisis in Israel prompted the evacuation of the Nigerians.
Israeli airstrikes in retaliation have resulted in hundreds of fatalities in Gaza.
“I’m pleased to report that we were able to airlift and bring back all 310 citizens who traveled to Jerusalem, Israel, for a pilgrimage.
In addition to expressing my gratitude to our Ministry of Home Affairs for a job well done, I must thank you all for your concern.
We offer prayers for international peace as well as peace in Israel. On X, Sanwo Olu wrote.
