President Bola Tinubu’s recent nominations have been backed by a pro-democracy organization led by tribal chiefs in Nigeria called The Natives, who claim the president has been reasonable and fair while carrying out the Renewed Hope Agenda he promised the country.
The Natives, which has 20 million members nationwide and 371 different ethnic, religious, and tribal origins, also complimented the President on his attendance at the UNGA in 2023.
The organization claimed that it was pleased and proud of what the President and Vice President Kashim Shettima had done during their first 100 days in office in a statement released on Friday in Abuja by its “Supreme Leader,” Hon. Smart Edwards.
The statement claims that no one could have predicted the selection of a young woman as Minister of Youth, a known supporter of the #EndSARS campaign serving as Minister of Digital Economy, or, even better, former opposition party governor Nyesom Wike now in charge of the Federal Capital Territory.
There is no such thing as yorubaization, he declared. Nothing about it reminds us of the past. This is a competent, excellent, and balanced administration. Over 6,000 positions are open, and no one tribe, region, or religion can properly fill them. In this time, renewed optimism is all that is required.
“We want to see all nations, faiths, tribes, and groups represented in today’s administration. Competence and fairness are being appointed by President Tinubu. He is making a significant statement in the paramilitary, military, security agencies, economic, and strategic political offices.
“Can you imagine a young girl serving as the Minister of Youth, a known supporter of #Endsars serving alongside President Tinubu as the Minister of Digital Economy, or even better, the former Governor Wike serving as the Minister in charge of the FCT?”
“It is encouraging that a Fulani guy is in charge of our national security, and Southern Kaduna is in control of our defense. The value of novel approaches is clear.
You are a leader, a thinker, and a doer, Mr. President. Your critics would have rather that you hadn’t rung the bell at the NASDAQ in New York, USA, or that you hadn’t been there at the UNGA, indicating investors and economic hope.
“As Native Americans, we are very happy of what you and our affable Vice President Kashim Shettima have achieved and established in the past 100 days. The future is undoubtedly clearer as we implore you to be more consistent in your dynamic leadership, approach, and confidence in God’s capacity to bestow upon you more wisdom to guide the ship of our country toward our bigger destiny.
The statement praised the career advancement in security agencies and Commissions and urged the President to keep releasing and unbundling agencies with stifling monopolies, dominances, and imbalances.
“Your leadership is excellent because, in addition to your supporters and party, the offices, MDAs, and Commissions are experiencing new life. In order to maintain a sense of balance and justice, we implore Your Excellency to continue to nominate exceptional Nigerians to positions in the FCT, CDS, NSA, Customs, Education, and Youths, among other departments.
