The Department of State Services (DSS), according to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), unlawfully detained Nnamdi Kanu, the group’s leader.
Emma Powerful, the spokesperson for IPOB, alleged the DSS illegally arrested Kanu while threatening the organization with violence.
Powerful made the assertion while asking the people to disregard allegations that ESN agents had been neutralized in the Arochukwu and Enugu forest.
According to a statement by Powerful, the Nigerian military’s viral photos and videos clearly show them invading the camp of the Biafra National Guard (BNG).
He stated that BNG is not a member of IPOB and has never made any claims to affiliation with the organization.
The statement says, in part, that “IPOB’s approach to self-determination is in conformity with international rules, yet Nigerian Government’s frantic attempts to blackmail IPOB and ESN for over 8 years have always failed.
“Nigerian Security Agents, mainly the DSS, have financed armed groups in Biafra Land while unjustly arresting Mazi Nnamdi KANU in an effort to blackmail IPOB and ESN.
“However, the movement has always been freed from these sponsored criminals thanks to our rigorous techniques. The Nigerian military’s widely shared images and videos showed them invading the Biafra National Guard (BNG) camp.
“The BNG have never claimed to be associated with IPOB and are not a part of IPOB.”
