Oba Kabiru Shotobi, the Baale of the Gberigbe village in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has admitted that it was he who stopped James Aloba, the late singer Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba’s father, from burying his body at midnight.
According to reports, Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, in a contentious manner, and was buried in Ikorodu the next day.
Both online and off, many were outraged by the singer’s untimely funeral, criticising his family for interring him without first having an autopsy done.
The Baale of Gberigbe, Oba Shotobi, said that Mohbad may have been buried sooner if it weren’t for his intervention in a video that is currently spreading on the internet.
He claimed that although the deceased’s father wanted to bury him at midnight, he resisted.
Oba Shotobi remarked in Yoruba, “Mohbad’s father wished to bury Mohbad at midnight on the day he passed away. It was me who put a halt to him.
