The inaugural national conference on “Equal Opportunity of Access to Higher Education in Nigeria” has been rescheduled by the Joint Admission and Matriculations Board’s Equal Opportunity Group.
The meeting, which was originally set for September 26 and 27, has been moved to September 25 and 26, according to the exam authority.
“Towards increasing equal opportunity of access to higher education in Nigeria” is the conference’s topic.
The revised dates were revealed in a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, acting director of public affairs and protocol for JAMB.
According to Benjamin, the date modification was necessary because there was a chance that the federal government may designate Wednesday, September 27, as a holiday.
The Board calls on all stakeholders, including all heads of tertiary institutions, heads of examination bodies, WAEC, NECO, and the National Business and Technical Examinations Board to take note. The Board regrets any difficulties caused by this change in schedule.
“The National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies, education commissioners, administrators of schools for people with disabilities, and deans of faculties of education are other groups worth noting.
“Leaders of Departments of Special Education, members of the Association of Persons with Disabilities, and the general public should also be aware of the change in dates.
“All other venue and time information remains as previously announced,” Benjamin said.
The conference, he continued, is intended to increase the enrollment options for people with disabilities in the tertiary education system in Nigeria.
