Following the tragic passing of Nigerian musician Mohbad, music producer and vocalist Olumide Ogunade, also known as ID Cabasa, has provided hitherto unheard-of details about Naira Marley’s Marlian Record label.
Recalls that Mohbad passed away on Tuesday of last week under mysterious circumstances, with the social media arena ablaze with the singer’s passing news.
Naira Marley, the head of his previous record company, and Sam Larry, a friend of Marley’s, have been charged with murder in the killing of Mohbad.
The pair had allegedly bullied the late singer mercilessly since she had left the Marlians Record, according to a number of documents and videos that had been made public online.
In response to the controversy, ID Cabasa condemned the alleged torture that Naira Marley allegedly subjected his signees to inside the walls of his record company during an Instagram live session on Monday night.
The record producer said that Zinoleesky, one of Naira Marley’s signees, purchased a house and car in recent years under the label’s name rather than Zinoleesky’s own.
I began to hear a lot of things coming from that label, including the claim that even some of the items purchased for Zinoleesky—the home and the vehicles—were not done so in the boy’s name.
That is the ultimate form of evil.
Legendary musicians like 9ice and Olamide were fostered by ID Cabasa under his label.
