On Monday night, Mr. Kayode Ajayi, a 60-year-old farmer from Laduba village in the Asa local government area of Kwara State, was reportedly abducted by suspected gunmen while working on his field.
However, it was learned that members of the state police command’s anti-kidnapping squad have been sent to the area, and local vigilantes and hunters are assisting in the endeavour to free the victim.
The gunmen kidnapped Ajayi and his daughter on Monday night as they were leaving his property.
Later, it was discovered that the daughter had been saved.
According to sources close to the victim’s family, Mr. Kayode Ajayi and his daughter were abducted by unidentified gunmen on Tuesday night while they were returning from their farm in Laduba.
“After the pair was held hostage by the gunmen, they were relocated far from the property, but the daughter was eventually absolved while the father was abducted.
“Mr. Ajayi’s daughter afterwards called his mother to let her know that her father had been abducted by the gunmen and taken away.
“At this point, Mrs. Ajayi raised the alarm regarding her husband’s kidnapping, causing the public and well-wishers to learn and subsequently inform the security agencies, particularly police command, towards the victim’s rescue.”
“I want to let you know that we have been trying to call his number since Monday, but it keeps stating that he is not accessible. We have turned to prayer in the hopes that Mr. Ajayi will be saved.
The victim’s daughter has been rescued, according to SP Okasanmi Ajayi, the police public relations officer for Kwara Command, who spoke about the development.
However, he said that “Mr. Kayode Ajayi’s rescue efforts are vigorously under way.”
By God’s help, Mr. Kayode Ajayi will soon be freed, as we have sent the State Police Command’s anti-kidnapping unit to look for him.
