The Lagos State Police Command has detained three confessed assassins of late Adeniyi Sanni, the top adviser to Solomon Adeola, the senator from Ogun West in the National Assembly.
The suspects, who were all ex-offenders and paraded by CP Idowu Owohunwa, the commissioner of police for the Lagos State Police Command, today at the command headquarters in Ikeja, revealed that late Sanni had been stabbed and shot three times before he was left to rot at Toyota on the Oshodi Apapa motorway last month.
They claimed to be masquerading as military troops and identified themselves as part of a global robbery organisation that specialises in stealing unregistered vehicles from unaware motorists.
They would then transport the stolen cars to their sponsor and gang boss, who lives in the Benin Republic.
They were captured with three pistols, one of which was built locally, military equipment, spent and live ammunition, and the Toyota CRV that had been compelledly taken from the late Sanni.
