Following the expulsion of 84 members for the same reason on Wednesday, the All-Progressives Congress in Osun on Thursday ordered the suspension of an additional 26 party members for suspected anti-party activity.
The suspension is detailed in a statement that Mr. Sooko Lawal, the chairman of the Osun APC, has signed.
Lawal said that the suspension was brought about by complaints and claims of party factionalization made against the affected members.
The Osun State chapter of the APC formed a Disciplinary Committee to look into the claims made against some of its members after receiving reports of anti-party actions.
“This disciplinary action is in reaction to charges of behaviour that threatens to split the party into factions and create rival party organisations.
“The complaints were thoroughly and impartially investigated by the disciplinary committee, and the State Executive Committee attentively considered the results.
“The state executive committee has made the tough, yet necessary action,” he added. “After a thorough evaluation of the data and consideration of the committee’s recommendations.
Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, Najeem Salami, Sen. Mudasiru Hussain, Adelowo Adebiyi, Mr. Adelani Baderinwa, Mr. Sikiru Ayedun, Kazeem Salami, Alhaji Adesiji Azeez, and Gbenga Akano are among those who have been suspended, according to him.
Others, according to him, are Mr. Kunle Ige, Mr. Biodun Agboola, Mr. Gbenga Awosode, Rasheed Opatola, Mr. Tajudeen Famuyide, Mr. Israel Oyekunle, Mr. MBO Ibraheem, Mr. Akeem Olaoye, Mr. Francis Famurewa.
Others include Zakariah Khalid-Olaoluwa-South LCDA, Wasiu Adebayo, Rasheed Afolabi, Segun Olanibi, Tunde Ajilore, Ganiyu Ismaila Opeyemi, and Mrs. Adenike Abioye.
“As we go, we urge our members to be committed to our objectives and carry on cooperating to further the interests of our citizens and our State.
“Our commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and adherence to our party’s core values remains unwavering,” the party declared.
On Wednesday, the party’s leader announced the expulsion of 84 members for allegedly accepting positions with the state’s Peoples Democratic Party government.
