With Nigerian players competing in various leagues around the world, league football in Europe is gradually taking shape for the 2023–24 season.
In the Serie A, Victor Osimhen scored the first goal as Napoli defeated Sassuolo 2-0. In the German Bundesliga, Victor Boniface scored twice as Leverkusen defeated Borussia Monchengladbach 3-0.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen scored from the penalty spot. It was his 100th club goal overall and his 62nd for Napoli, therefore it was a goal with flair. Osimhen will be hopeful that he maintains his outstanding performance from the previous season.
