When overseeing the Monday food distribution to 18,000 heads of households in the Damboa Local Government Area, the governor made this statement.
Zulum pointed out that his government has chosen the most vulnerable residents to receive the benefits of the subsidy withdrawal palliatives in order to lessen the impact of hardship on the state.Palliatives: Zulum asserts that no government can feed every citizen.
“I want you to be aware it is never achievable for no government, whether local, state, or federal, can ever afford to feed its entire population.
Accordingly, he said, “we have chosen the most vulnerable individuals across all local governments to help cushion the effect of hardship. Gwoza and Damboa in southern Borno are greatly affected by food shortage, and in the northern part, almost all the LGAs are experiencing food shortage aside from Kaga, Magumeri, and Gubio, while in central, MMC and Jere have less of a hit.”
