The State-owned tertiary institutions’ registration costs have been decreased by the Kano State administration.
This was said by Dr. Yusuf Kofarmata, the State Commissioner for Higher Education, on Monday at a press conference with media at the Government House in Kano.
He continued by saying that Alh Abba Kabir Yusuf, the state governor, and the leaders of higher institutions met and came to the conclusion.
He said that the 50% cut was made in light of the present financial circumstances as a result of the elimination of gasoline subsidies.
All Kano State natives enrolled in normal courses for the 2023–2024 academic session at the Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Wudil (ADUSTECH), Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil (YUMSUK), and Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education.
Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Danbatta, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso College of Advance and Remedial Studies, Tudun Wada, and Kano State College of Education and Remedial Studies (KACEPS) are a few more. Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, Kano State Polytechnic, and Danbatta are others.
He said that the choice was consistent with the State government’s dedication to the advancement of education, saying that this was demonstrated by the reinstatement of international scholarships for more than 1,000 students.
