According to Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, President Bola Tinubu has performance goals, will not tolerate failure, and would oust any incompetent minister.
Ngelale made this statement on Monday while appearing on Sunrise Daily on Channels TV.
He continued by saying that Tinubu has formed a number of reform committees for each sector between his election as president-elect and his inauguration on May 29.
Tinubu “basically looked at exactly what President Muhammadu Buhari had accomplished and said, ‘This is what we want to do to build on all these achievements,'” the President’s spokesperson stated.
When a minister is appointed, we will effectively implement a strategy within a predetermined period of time based on time-based criteria that their performance will be measure against.
“Every minister arriving is fully aware of what has to be accomplished within the time period set by the President.
“And that’s something we’ve never seen before in the history of Nigerian administration. The standards have been set by the President.
“The issue at hand is enforcement, and the President has demonstrated, as he did when he served as governor of Lagos State, that he is not someone who is scared to remove anyone.
Because, ultimately, if this administration fails, they won’t say a minister failed or a team of ministers failed, Tinubu is not someone who is reluctant to use swift penalties to ensure that they achieve the outcomes that he wants.
They’ll claim President Bola Tinubu was ineffective and that he will not accept ineffectiveness.
