Martins Esin, the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Youth Development in the National Assembly, has urged young people to start businesses using alternative energy sources since they are lucrative.
Additionally, he advised the women, in particular, to look into chances in the food and confectionary industries, saying that the industry is lucrative given that people need to eat.
Esin provided the counsel over the weekend at the Civic Centre in Akwa Ibom State’s Oron Local Government Area as part of a two-day programme on capacity building and strategic empowerment for 160 women and youth.
The federal representative for the Oron/Mbo/Okobo/Udung Uko/Urueoffong Oruko federal constituency noted that as the globe draws closer to clean and inexpensive energy, demand for solar power would increase. He also pointed out that the food and confectionary industries have a ready market all over the world.
“Please note that the demand for solar power will continue to rise as the world moves towards clean and affordable energy,” he stated. Due to its accessibility, dependability, and cleanliness, solar energy has become a popular alternative power source in large cities with reasonably dependable public power supplies.
“Solar power is even more appealing and the business is profitable because of the high cost of gas and diesel.
While we attempt to improve the area’s electricity supply, entrepreneurs in the solar power industry now find it to be a gold mine. What you do with this chance will largely depend on you, your outlook, and your goals.
“Of course, there is a ready market for the food and confectionery industry anywhere in the world. People will continue to eat as long as they are alive. They might not have the money to construct houses, buy vehicles, or buy clothing, but they will undoubtedly eat to survive. More entrepreneurs than any other industry have likely been born in the food industry.
Esin said his constituency office would monitor the actions and progress of the 160 adolescents and women who had received training in the state, while also advising them to use internet resources, particularly YouTube, to study more and establish themselves as authority in these two skillets.
In the meanwhile, Pst. Ojema Ojotu, who represents the Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency in Benue State, praised the lawmaker’s actions for bringing benefits to his constituents and asked them to continue supporting their representative.
