On Sunday, a series of accidents on the Lagos-Ibadan Motorway near the Magboro junction resulted in the injuries of fourteen people.
Three cars were allegedly involved in the collision that happened at approximately 8.30 in the morning. A Mazda bus is said to have struck a yellow commercial bus from behind at the intersection, which caused the other two vehicles to lose control and cause the collision.
Residents who talked with our reporter after the collision stated the Mazda bus hit the yellow bus, causing significant damage.
Salami Idris, a driver who shuttles travellers from Magboro to the Mowe section of the motorway, claimed he narrowly avoided being killed and that both he and his clients would have perished otherwise.
“The Mazda bus carrying passengers was being driven too quickly. The yellow bus was struck from back, and it tumbled towards the clumsy area of the intersection where the commercial motorcycles were typically parked. God was the one who rescued us. The driver’s hand was severely broken, and the hand’s bones could be seen, according to Idris.
A biker who gave his name as Ahmed claimed to have witnessed Federal Road Safety Corps personnel escorting the injured victims away and expressed concern that some individuals may have perished in the collision.
However, when contacted, Florence Okpe, an FRSC spokesman for the Ogun State Sector, said that no one was killed in the incident and that 21 passengers were engaged, with 14 of them suffering injuries.
No one died, Okpe declared. Three automobiles were involved in the multiple vehicle collision. There were 21 persons engaged, and 14 people were hurt, including eight men and six women. Speeding and improper overtaking were to blame, and one of the cars lost control.
