Olumide Akpata, the former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, has left his position as Senior Partner at Templars, a preeminent law firm.
Apata said he is quitting the company to help with the crucial mission of nation building in a statement released on Thursday.
Weeks after joining the Labour Party (LP) and declaring his intention to run in the upcoming governor’s race in Edo State, he resigned.
In a statement confirming his resignation dated August 24, 2023, the firm stated that Apata had officially informed the firm’s management and other partners of his decision to engage in active politics. In accordance with the firm’s governance protocols, it was decided that he would resign from the firm as of August 31, 2023.
