The Industrial Training Fund (ITF), located in the core of Abuja’s critical business sector, is on pace to finish its ambitious multi-purpose conference centre project in an effort to support vocational training and skills acquisition in Nigeria.
Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, the newly appointed Minister for Industry, Trade, and Investment, has demonstrated unyielding will to secure the prompt completion of this landmark 12-story structure, which aspires to promote growth, innovation, and prosperity in the country.
The ITF Conference Centre Project, which was authorised in 2018 and granted to Dantata and Sawoe Construction Company, is crucial to Nigeria’s efforts to diversify its economy and improve its labour force.
The complex is strategically situated in Maitama, close to illustrious organisations like the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL), the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the still-under-construction Nigerian Customs Service building.
The project’s ability to considerably advance the ITF’s efforts in skill development and vocational training makes it important. The training centre can currently hold 319 people each session. The building’s capacity is anticipated to rise to about 1,200 people each session with the extra investment.
This expansion focuses on a variety of industries, including welding and fabrication, refrigeration, plumbing, tiling, plastering, plumbing repairs, GSM repairs, and automotive skills.
Dr. Uzoka-Anite, who just started her new job, visited the ITF construction site to get acquainted with it, demonstrating her dedication to seeing that the project is finished on schedule and to specification. In accordance with the administration’s objective of creating employment in Nigeria, the Minister pledged her support for industry innovation and the development of chances for job seekers.
Due to its complexity, the project—originally scheduled for completion in June 2021—met a number of obstacles. However, Dr. Uzoka-Anite’s resolve indicates a renewed commitment to overcoming these obstacles and ensuring the Industrial Training Fund Building’s successful completion, a step that is anticipated to stand as evidence of Nigeria’s commitment to industrial progress, economic diversification, and skill development.
The completion of the ITF building is in line with Nigeria’s objectives for innovation, sustainability, and global competitiveness as the country works to achieve economic development and a diversified economy.
