General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, has directed all military leaders and personnel to pursue retribution for the murders of their comrades.
Speaking at the Friday funeral for troops murdered by bandits in Niger State, the CDS warned that those accountable would not escape punishment.
When you have to bury your own, it hurts a lot, he said. The families deserve to know that their deaths were not in vain.
We are grateful to them. We’ll make sure whomever did this is held accountable. I use this chance to urge all Nigerian troops and commanders that we must get revenge. Those responsible for this and those who murder our soldiers wherever they are we will smoke them out.”
He said that the military will hunt down terrorists, bandits, and other criminal organisations across the nation.
