Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning artist from Nigeria, has refuted claims that black Americans lack culture.
Burna Boy said he was misquoted in a recent interview with American media source Complex.
He claimed that his goal is to bring people together and establish bridges.
“My mission is to unite us [the world],” Burna Boy proclaimed. My goal is to construct a bridge that will never be destroyed and that ought to have existed from the beginning.
“People who made that claim—that I said Black Americans lack culture—have their own agenda.
“Returning to the point where I mentioned that black people lack culture or anything. Even so, does that make sense? If you saw the interview video, if you could show me the section where I said black Americans don’t have culture. That is all I need. If somebody can just show me that part.
There is nothing I stated that Malcolm X didn’t say, Burna Boy remarked in a recent interview with American media site Complex. However, it is clear that Burna Boy, who is from Africa, is saying it, and that it matches with whatever goals your small group may have.
