Hannatu Musa-Musawa, the minister of culture, arts, and the creative economy, has urged musicians and lyricists in all six geographic zones to create a national anthem.
She stated that having a national anthem for the nation was one of her top priorities.
She claimed that the song will increase citizens’ faith in the Nigerian enterprise.
She revealed this soon after taking office, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the minister’s media office.
“The Minister emphasised that one of her main short-term goals is to create a national anthem for the Nigerian brand. She encouraged Nigerian songwriters and musicians from the country’s six geopolitical zones to start thinking in that manner as a result, it partially read.
Musa-Musawa also pledged to do her absolute best to improve the perception of Nigeria.
The Minister insisted that negative traits like poverty, fraud, terrorism, and other types of criminality can no longer be attached to the nation.
She continued, “To transform positively the nation’s image outside the borders of this country will require the joint assistance of all well-meaning Nigerians.
She said that initiatives would be taken to ensure that the nation’s creative sector draws higher international earnings.
The Nigerian creative industry has matured, and it is now time to project it in a new exportable dimension for increased foreign profits, according to Musa-Musawa. Nigerians should anticipate new and inventive ideas that will fuel this sector in the upcoming weeks.
