Tobi Amusan of Nigeria will start defending her 100-meter women’s hurdles championship on Tuesday (today) at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Amusan will take the pitch at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest at precisely 6:12 p.m. Nigerian time.
The 26-year-old is in good spirits after the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) cleared her to compete in the Championship last week after a Whereabouts Failure Charge.

The Olympic bronze medalist from Jamaica, Megan Tapper, will compete against Amusan in the heat as she tries to become one of the four automatic qualifiers for the semi-finals.
She began her competition at the most recent World Athletics Championships in Oregon, USA, with a 12.40 African record before breaking Kendra Harrison’s 16.16 world mark with a stunning 12.12 performance.
Amusan went on to win a historic gold medal in the championship to become the first Nigerian to win a world outdoor title.
