Mason Greenwood, the embattled star of Manchester United, has stated that he wants to continue playing football outside of Old Trafford, where his presence won’t be a nuisance.
After learning that he will be leaving Manchester United, the forward made this clear in a statement today.
He declared, “Manchester United, my family, and I worked together to come at today’s decision.
“I appreciate the club’s help ever since I joined at age seven. There will always be a United part of me.
Greenwood continued by saying that he is aware that his social media presence will be used to make judgements about him.
Recall that Greewood was detained and charged with coercive behaviour and sexual assault against his then-girlfriend, Harriet Robson, last year.
“I was raised to know that violence or abuse in any relationship is wrong, I did not do the things I was accused of, and in February I was cleared of all charges,” the man said in his statement.
“I owe a great deal of gratitude to my family and all of my loved ones for their support, and now it’s up to me to earn their confidence back. I want to become a great football player, but most of all a better father, a better person, and to use my talents in a positive way on and off the pitch.”
